The “Southern Style” Thread Ring Gage sets round and stays round through all adjustments due to its eccentric design and opposing pressures of the adjusting and locking mechanisms. The aluminum body construction makes large gages light weight and easier to use. Southern Style Thread Ring Gages feature a unique “Automatic Helical Adjustment”. The helix path of the thread along the line of adjustment remains true and in alignment throughout the life of the gage. SETTING A SOUTHERN STYLE THREAD RING GAGE Always loosen clamp screw before inserting setplug If too tight or if setplug will not enter thread ring gage:

• Loosen clamp screw 1/4" turn • Advance adjusting screw 1/8" turn • Tighten clamp screw • If still tight, repeat first three steps

If too loose:

• Loosen clamp screw 1/4" turn • Back out adjusting screw 1/8" turn • Tighten clamp screw • If still loose, repeat first three steps
